OPUS KLASSIK School
At OPUS KLASSIK School, young people have the opportunity to become part of the jury and present their own award. They don't just discuss music in theory – they engage with it directly and gain a voice of their own, as the award is based solely on their evaluation. The OPUS KLASSIK School thus emphasises its claim to make classical music accessible and tangible for the younger generation.
For the third time, students voted online from a shortlist of submissions in the category ‘Videoclip of the Year’ to select the winner of the OPUS KLASSIK School Award. The evaluation of the music videos took place from the end of May to mid-July 2025 via an online portal. Any digital device could be used to participate. Supporting teaching materials were provided to help explore the content in the classroom. A special highlight: students from Berlin will present the award themselves on 12 October during the OPUS KLASSIK Gala!
This year's OPUS KLASSIK School Award goes to the young pianist Louis Philippson for his video ‘Paulette’.
Alongside Louis Philippson with ‘Paulette’, the shortlist for the OPUS KLASSIK School 2025 included
- Marina Baranova: “Prélude à la manière de Ravel”
- David Orlowsky: “Petrichor”
- Philipp Schupelius: “Cadenza: Vivaldi meets Rachmaninov”
- Malte Vief: “Auseinandersetzung”
OPUS KLASSIK School underscores OPUS KLASSIK's commitment to making classical music accessible and engaging for younger generations. OPUS KLASSIK School is organized in cooperation with the TONALi project Rhapsody in School.
All students in Germany from grade 9 and above are eligible to participate. The project is also planned for 2026. Further information on the procedure and registration is available at: school@opusklassik.de
